Back seat extender for dogs

Most dogs can’t lie down properly in a car. The footwell drops away behind the front seats, so they brace, shuffle and end up standing for the whole journey.

This fills that gap. Load-bearing plates sit inside the padding and bridge the footwell, turning the back seat into one flat, continuous surface — 132cm across, 160cm deep with the side flaps out. Big enough for a retriever to stretch out on.

Why it works

Measure your rear bench before ordering. If it’s narrower than 130cm, this will be too large.

Common questions

Will it fit my car? It’s built for SUVs, estates and larger family cars. Measure the width of your rear bench: anything from 130cm upwards is fine. Smaller hatchbacks are too narrow. If you’re unsure, email us your car’s make and model before ordering and we’ll tell you honestly.

What if it doesn’t fit? Send it back within 30 days for a full refund. If it doesn’t fit as described, we cover the return postage.

Can I still use a seatbelt harness? Yes. The straps and anchors leave the seatbelt buckles accessible. We’d recommend using a harness — this is a comfort surface, not a restraint.

Will my dog scratch or chew through it? The quilted Oxford fabric handles claws well in normal use. It isn’t chew-proof, so a dedicated chewer left alone with it will get through eventually.

How do I clean it? Wipe down with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air dry. Don’t machine wash — the internal plates won’t survive it.

Does it stop my dog getting dirty? No. It keeps the mud off your seats, not off your dog. Muddy dog, clean car.

Can I still carry passengers in the back? Not while it’s fitted. It folds away into the boot in under a minute when you need the seats back.
